I think that a really cute style would be braiding the hair like a headband, then you can curl the rest with big loose curls. You could do the same thing with the updo, but just pin the curls to the top of the head. Or you could always wear your hair up in a bun with a braid wrapping around the bun. I have seen braided hair extensions that you can use to achieve that look (like this http://www.todaystylist.com/BN27L_headba鈥?/a> ) - it might be easier to use the extension then to work with your own hair; but it all depends on what type of hair you have.
