My hair is pretty long and my gown is strapless; I was thinking of half up and half down?
Any suggestion, pictures will be great. What are some nice wedding hairstyles?
i disagree with the answer above. as a a guy..and one who just got married at that...wear it down. hair down is not only beautiful but sexy too. it's sexy in a subtle way, so i don't mean overtly sexy. But guy's hate up do's, shouldn't your hair on your wedding day at least be something your guy will like? also it's way easy to have the entire night..with an up do what if it starts coming down at the reception...it might look bad, but with a down do it can't fall down! at least ask your man first and see how he likes it then decide what to do from there. What are some nice wedding hairstyles?
Haha, I'm looking for the same thing but I can't seem to find what I want...
Here are some pics that were sent to me when I asked a question about trying to find this kind of style. I'm wanting mine, half up half down, ringlet curls, and kind of 'poofed' up in the front.

go to a professional and actually try some out. My hair stylist took one look at me and my hair, took a book off a shelf and pointed at the style she thought would be good on me. I thought it was too ';girly';, but had her try it anyway. It was so perfect, it took my breath away. Some things you don't know until you try.
It Matters of course; up or down etc etc etc.
what crown. what viel blah blah.
for my confirmation i did a half up + down id id a bun at the top of my head like half my ahir then i did all the rest down in nice curls.

sorry this is sooo long but i ws very stressed baout mY WEdding and i know i would have loved all this help for ME!
any style with all of your hair up with be cute
There's literally hundreds of hairstyle websites--google ';updo hairstyle'; and you'll have so much to choose from it's not even funny, I honestly couldn't even begin to start listing websites and links to pictures. You can also comb through bridal and hairstyling magazines.
The important thing to do though is to schedule a hair trial with the stylist who will be doing your hair on wedding day. Take a picture of your gown, and try to take the actual veil and headpiece (comb, tiara, barette, etc.). Also, take pictures of styles you like. Make sure to do this well in advance of your wedding day, if you're really picky, you might even want to have time to schedule a 2nd trial (maybe even with a different stylist). A good stylist will allow several hours for a trial like this--like 3 or 4 hours, so that you guys can try several different styles.
Hope this helped you! Good luck!
Try going to www.theknot.com. They have some GREAT style ideas.
i always loved it the way you described it, but it would have to be wavy or loose curls with some bangs to the side
I like the half up and half down too!! My daughter-in-law did that an she also had a strapless gown. It looked beautiful. My suggestion would be to look through wedding magazines or simply go to a salon and look through their books. Hair salons actually have ';wedding hairstyle'; books. Book a ';trial'; with your stylist. Bring your veil or tiara or any other hair jewelry that you want to wear to your trial. Go through it once to see if you like it. That's what a ';trial'; is. They can comb it out and start over if you don't like it! Check their prices first, though. Where I live, most hair salons will give you ONE free ';trial'; if you book your wedding day hair appointment with them. Some salons may not offer this free service. Check first!!
it all depends on your level of formality, season and personal preference.
I have a strapless too and am getting married outside so i'm going to do a 'bohemian goddess' look like kate hudson. but it's not that formal.
up-dos are probably most formal, but i think that a nice half up half down look could be a nice mix and still keep your eyes out of your face... if thats what you like, i think go for it...
Hello fellow bride,
I could have written this question myself... it is identical to my situation. Thanks you for the post, I will keep my eye on the answers, too.
I have found only ONE picture (so far in my many web searches) that I like, yet I have my first hair trial scheduled for tomorrow. (What's with all the updo's???!!!) Unfortunately I can't find the website where I found the picture, hence I can't provide a link for you, but I can describe it and try and email you the picture I saved if your profile allows...
Her hair was mostly down, with a little from the sides and top pulled straight back to the back of the head. With those pieces, they did some sort of pretty twist that resembled two delicate roses on the back of her head. Hard to describe, but very pretty and hopefully not too complicated.
If you're anything like me, you want to show off your long hair but don't want a lot of product gooping it up.
I lot of brides are going for the half up and half down look....and it's so pretty! I got married in April and had my hair in an updo - my hair stylist convinced me to have an updo when I really wanted it half up and half down!
Unfortunately my wedding pictures came out HORRIBLE, and my husband and I are getting them redone next month. Now I'm contemplating on getting my hair done the way I originally wanted it, or the way it was done for my wedding....decisions, decisions, decisions! Any ideas????
But in all, do what hair style you like the best and what you think will look best on you! Don't let anyone convince you otherwise! ;-)
